Welcome!

Social and emotional learning (SEL) skills are critical for student success in school and beyond. Our team, led by Dr. Greg Benner from the University of Alabama, is working to provide instruction to early elementary learners (K-3) through a project called Social and Emotional Learning Study Groups (SELSG+).  SELSG+ will provide teachers with
  • Evidence-based Tier 1 SEL instruction for students in K-3 that is feasible, usable and acceptable for teachers and students;
  • Data-based SEL assessments to support the identification of students needing Tier 2 intervention;
  • Evidence-based Tier 2 SEL instruction delivered in small groups and individualized to student needs and progress monitoring tools to measure progress on outcome measures; and
  • Digitally-delivered teacher training on SEL instruction supported by in person teacher study groups and personalized coaching for the SELSG+ research team.
